Mexborough’s iconic Empress Building is the home of the elegant and recently renovated Empress Ballroom, which is an ideal venue for your dance school or academy. Incorporating classical soaring ceilings, ornate décor, large open-plan space and grandiose stage – perfect for delivering performances for either shows or dance exam pieces - are highlighted by the spung dancefloor. In short, the Empress Ballroom makes for a fabulous dance venue from its time as a nationwide destination for ballroom dancing and ballet performances, dating back to the opening day back in 1928, almost 100 years ago.
For many years from 1962, our Mexborough dance venue was the host
building for the well-known Dance School of Constance Grant. It has seen
countless shows over the years, and is now finally available to continue its
rich and proud heritage.
With available space to host up to 350 people seated in an auditorium
style, this lavish venue will create an immense talking point from
lights-down to the final step of your end-of-year dance show, exam
session, or one-off special dance event.
This fully furnished function venue is in a well-connected South Yorkshire
town, only ten minutes’ drive from the A1 motorway, and with a railway
station that is directly accessible from both Doncaster and Sheffield.
Don’t worry about connectivity, as the venue is fully serviced with free
guest wi-fi available throughout, to enable you to live stream your shows
to friends and loved ones who are unable to make it.
