organised functions, with the cavernous room equally suited for club nights, bingo and casino themed
evenings, talent shows, musical gigs and stand-up comedy performances.
With revenue share opportunities, we are happy to negotiate terms that are mutually beneficial to all parties.

Revenue Share Opportunities
The Empress Ballroom has hosted hundreds, if not thousands of events over the past hundred years, and has
begun doing so again. This presents a wonderful opportunity for aspiring and professional promoters to
bring their unique brand of entertainment to the iconic Mexborough venue.
There are opportunities for organisations and individuals who have an interest in launching and hosting
one-off and regular social evenings with the Empress Ballroom as the regular venue and operating them on a
revenue share basis. We are happy to manage ticketing and payment systems in partnership with our
payment provider SOTpay, and share the revenues generated by tickets sales with the event promoter.

Live Staged performances
Mexborough has a proud heritage of hosting
some great gigs, and rumour has it that an
unknown band called the Beatles once booked
to play the halls of the Empress Building.
Whether you’re looking to host your own mini
one-day festival or simply a one-off gig, the
Empress Ballroom is ready for you with a
generous capacity, which has the potential to
generate plenty of revenue for a great event
promoter.
Comedy Nights
With its wide auditorium and spacious stage
area, the Ballroom is an ideal space for
hosting comedy nights and hosting well
known comedians on nationwide tours.
Club Nights
No matter what the music style, the
Ballroom is capable of holding up to 250 to
350 paying customers whilst the stage is
perfectly equipped to hold a DJ and their
equipment.
Casino / Bingo Evenings
With the spacious, open-plan ballroom and
plenty of tables, our venue is ideal for
playing host to regular Casino and Bingo
events, including the wildly popular Boozy
Bingo variety.
Craft & Record Fairs / Trade Shows / Supper Clubs
The huge hall of the Empress Ballroom
makes an ideal open area for stallholders in
several rows, or situated around the edge of
the room, with plenty of space for paying
customers to browse and spend their
money with your stallholders.

Mexborough is in the South of the borough and has a population of 14,750 residents, of which 8,109 (52.2%) are of working-age (25–64 years old). The neighbouring town of Swinton has a population of 8,296.

happy to hold a date for 14 days with a small
deposit, giving you a chance to make
necessary arrangements for the event.
We can also send you a no-obligation
quotation for the event, which we will hold for
14 days. Once the booking is confirmed, we
will require a deposit to save and secure the
date and allow us to make arrangements for
your event.
Revenue share or door take events will be
dealt with on individual merit with the event
promoter. All prices are inclusive of VAT at the
current rate (20%) and may be subject to
change if national VAT rates change.
